Humane predator traps by Haines

Haines predator traps are the perfect solution for effective and humane predator control.  Not only do they kill predators and pests quickly, there is no poison residue to kill native animals.  Common pests in New Zealand are ferrets, rats, stoats and hedgehogs.  The Government are wanting to eradicate these predators from New Zealand by 2050.

Produced with fully stainless-steel plates or zinc passivate, these ergonomically designed traps allow for ease of usability. The tanalised wooden box reduces rotting when exposed to the elements or harsh conditions, ensuring your predator trap will last for years.

Designed and tested by New Zealand Department of Conservation

For many years, Haines have been providing heavy duty predator traps to the New Zealand Department of Conservation (DOC) to combat predator infestations in bushland, protect native animals and fauna and prevent health issues.  These trap boxes have bveen designed to the DOC  'current best practice'.  

Other customers include DOC, hardware stores, councils, farmers, parks and nature reserves.

About the Haines predator traps

As part of our wooden products offered to our customers, Haines have been producing predator traps for over 30 years.  Our standard sizes are DOC150, DOC200, DOC250. These traps have passed NAWAC (National Animal Welfare Advisory Committee) guidelines as humane kill traps for the pests listed for each trap.  

All of the trap boxes are constructed using H4 timber, galvanised weld mesh, glavanized nails, stainless steel staples and screws.
